The Fingerboard
Medieval lutes in their reconstructed form usually have seven, eight or nine frets.
In most cases, though, 8 frets are typically applied.
Therefore, the fingerboard below shows 8 frets.
This fingerboard is done according to the following tuning:
DD / GG / AA / dd / g’
The diagram below depicts the neck of the lute.
The numbers on the right represent the fret (1st, 2nd, etc.).
